The presentation at the 21st International Forging Congress (IFC) in Berlin is a recognition of the work carried out by the company in its 100 years of history.
Lazpiur, chosen as the best manufacturer of forging tools, is the only Spanish company to act as a keynote speaker at the Congress.
Set in Gipuzkoa, Lazpiur employs 100 workers and operates in 25 countries.
The IFC, which is held every three years, will bring together over 1,000 participants this week, including managers of the main players in the sector.
Bergara (Gipuzkoa, Spain), July 2014
Lazpiur is taking one of the most relevant steps of its 100 years of history. The International Forging Congress (IFC), where leading players from the forging world meet every three years, has selected a small group of speakers to explain the latest trends in the sector. One of them is Lazpiur, the only representative from Spain.
Over 1,000 people will be attending the IFC, being held between 29th June and 4th July in Berlin. The Organization of the Congress, led by Euroforge (comprising associations from 11 European countries), has asked Lazpiur to be one of the keynote speakers in the presentation 'Machining Trends in manufacturing tools'.
Lazpiur, with headquarters in Bergara (Gipuzkoa), shares programme with some of the most important companies in the sector, such as Bharat Forge from India, Fraunhofer from Germany (the biggest European technological corporation), the multinational ZF (one of the ten largest automotive suppliers in the world), as well as forging associations from Europe, Japan, India, China, United States, Brazil and Taiwan.
The company has two main lines of business: the construction of machinery and the manufacture of precision tools for cold, warm and hot forging. It works for multinational companies such as Daimler, Ford and Volkswagen Automotive, as well as for TIER 1 firms such as GKN, Lear and others. It is firmly present in the European market (specially France and Germany) and America (United States, Mexico).
The invitation from the IFC represents a turning point for Lazpiur, which is already present in 25 countries and is considered to be one of the leading worldwide manufacturers in the forging sector. Acting as a speaker in Berlin recognises at an international level the quality of work carried out by this medium-sized company, which employs 100 people.
Lazpiur is a family enterprise with 100 years of history and is currently managed by brothers Miguel and Agustín Lazpiur. President of Confebask, the Business Association of the Basque Country, between 2005 and 2011, Miguel Lazpiur has also been a vicepresident of the CEOE, the Spanish Business Association, and of Adegi (from Gipuzkoa).
Presentation in Berlin
Lazpiur's conference in Berlin earlier this morning tries to anticipate new trends in the forging industry. It highlights the importance of innovation and cooperation with technological platforms. The company participates in projects with two Basque leading companies in this field: Tecnalia and IK4.
We are currently working in design technologies using the most advanced methods, such as ultrasound machining, which allows a reduction in tool wear and tear. More importantly, it extends the equipment's useful life leading to significant economic savings.
