New high speed machining centreLazpiur, which is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year, has taken a leap forward to intelligent manufacturing. It has started a policy of investments to interconnect processes and increase their production capacity in addition to improving quality, which eventually translates into providing their customers with better service.

The Basque company has purchased a new high speed machining centre from the German company Hermle. It has five axes and can be used on parts for any industry, and is particularly ideal for highly complex tooling parts.

This leap forward into technological improvement by Lazpiur ensures higher flexibility, process automation and higher accuracy. Thus it consolidates the company as an international reference in its sector, since its history is one of prestige. In fact, this year the company has been invited to submit a paper at the International Forging Congress (IFC) in Berlin, where it was the sole representative in its specialization worldwide to talk about the new machining trends in forging tools.

This investment in a state-of-the-art machining centre builds on the company's strategy towards automation of machining products based on the manufacturing 4.0 concept, whereby Lazpiur dives into a new dimension. The Industry 4.0 concept was a strategy by the German government to promote smart manufacturing with the computerization and interconnection of all processes.

CAD-CAM news

As a result of this new purchase, Lazpiur has implemented the five axes in the CAD-CAM department. This is a must to fully benefit from the potential of this new machining unit. The department has installed the new software required for this purpose.

The Bergara (Gipuzkoa) company already works for 25 countries and is currently expanding. The company focuses on the design and manufacture of forging machinery and tooling. These are two separate divisions, which are mainly concentrated on supplying multinationals such as Ford, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Tier-1 suppliers like Lear, GKN, NTN, etc.
